Samantha: I was just in Florida for a business trip. Gotta love Orlando because the malls stay open till 11! Plenty of time to shop after a day of work. There were so many bathing suits to choose from, so many styles. I didn't buy any, but got some good ideas of what I'll get next time I need a suit. The tankini is a nice combo. Here in Denver besides department stores, check out a pretty large selection of suits at Old Navy, J Crew, even Target. Who cares how much the suit costs so long as it looks great?
Site Map Diana: Ahhh, yes. It is indeed bathing suit season, again. This time of year is exciting for most, and dreadful for others, or is it the other way around? Luckily over the years the string bikini has been exterminated, and many bathing suit styles are in! Tankinis are great, especially for women who are larger chested, it can be a great way to cover up at the pool. One of my favorite bathing suit styles (that I’ll invest in as soon as I find the right one) is the one piece monokini. What do you think of those?
Samantha: Not sure I’m connecting an image with the name with the suit, please go on.
Diana: Sure ... It’s the name for this suit; I just found the name of it about ten minutes ago. A monokini is a top and bottom of a bikini that is connected by a vertical piece of material that runs down the torso. Sometimes, it will be a one piece only with a large round piece missing from the side. Make sense? It’s for the bold and daring. Not a bikini, but not a one piece, and you’ll definitely get noticed wearing one!
Samantha: Well I learn something new every day! Now I what that suit’s called a monokini. I’m not as daring as I used to be so I think I’m passing on this style of suit. I also tan very easily, even when I'm wearing SPF 30, and I don't think I could handle those tan lines
Diana: Well, I don’t think the monokini is meant to be in the sunlight. I think those types of suits are meant to be worn by the poolside under the umbrella and under the sun! Just to sit there and look pretty.
Samantha: Spoken from the young lady without kids!! I need my bathing suits to withstand a whole day swimming in the surf, the pool, diving for rings, footballs, you name it.
Diana: Point well taken. No suit is complete with a sunhat this summer. And sunhats are so much easier to pick than a bathing suit. I always revert back to the look of Samantha Jones from the Sex in the City movie, stuffing her face with guacamole wearing that enormous sunhat.
Samantha: I can totally see you by the pool in your monokini and big Samantha Jones hat! I usually wear a bandana or a baseball cap by the pool so I've got some control of my hair. But I love the big floppy hats too.
Diana: If you are shopping for a big hag, try Forever 21 or any department store (which tends to be more expensive, but there’s a larger selection).
