I am the right-wing extremist Homeland Security warned you about

baby-grandpaPeople my age remember the days when President Nixon maintained an "enemies list."  Driven by a desperate paranoia, he used the FBI and the Justice Department to keep tabs on those he considered a political or social threat.  Those of us who may be described as Conservative warned the rest of you that President Obama and his staff may resort to such things.  You dismissed such ideas as fear mongering.  I am only surprised at the swiftness with which the prediction came true.

I am the right-wing extremist Homeland Security warned you about.  Forty-seven years old and father of five; two are in college.  Three are productive members of society.

Site Map While I do not own a firearm, I am very pro second amendment.  I believe immigrants should follow the law.  I believe the economic downturn was the result of Liberals interfering with the free market.  I believe the President's solutions will leave people so dependent on government that they will have no choice but to give up on the American Dream.  Worst of all, I believe babies in the womb have the same right to life, life liberty and the pursuit of happiness that you have.

I try to play tennis but I'm out of shape.  In the afternoons, after work, my wife and I watch Judge Judy.  I go to church on Sundays and Wednesdays.  I have a son playing college football and one who is a professional musician.  With my chicks flying the coop, I am back in college trying to finally finish my degree.

I work two jobs to make ends meet and marvel at those who can play the system to such a degree that they don't have to work at all.  I am even more amazed by those who consider the players victims.

We have a new grandbaby who was born very premature.  There is no way you can watch a baby born at 27 weeks struggle for life and still favor abortion rights.

I am technologically challenged.  I just discovered text messaging but I can't figure out T9.  I actually use punctuation.  Overall, I'm rather boring...until now.

Now, I have entered the exciting world of extremism.  The Justice department has briefed my local law enforcement on the level of threat that I pose.  The new administration has designated me, because of my beliefs, to be a threat to domestic tranquility.  They're not worried about terrorists who want to hijack planes.  They're not worried about environmentalists who torch car dealerships and ski resorts.  They're worried about me.

I don't know whether I should be laughing at the thought of it or weeping for the nation.

you have got to be kidding me

The extremists are the activists firebombing abortion clinics and attacking doctors, the people attacking researchers using animal models, the ones preventing free speech with threats, planning to blow or shoot up government buildings (Timothy McVeigh), those who commit acts to prove they're right about something (the unibomber), the guy at the McCain rally who yelled "string him up" - Sociologically speaking these are dangerous characteristics for a group of people, or a person. This is what they're talking about, and because of the political atmosphere it's the right leaning fringe groups they are psychologically concerned about. I'm going to repeat what I've heard so many times about Bush's wiretapping policies and ethnic profiling policies - if you haven't done anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about.

You are the extremist Hannity and Limbaugh are talking about
written by Alec , July 14, 2009

Sir,
It is extremely evident that all you know about the report is what Hannity et al. tell you to know. This is quite evident by your ignorance to the administration that initiated the report and oversaw its completion. Hint: It was not the Obama administration as these reports take months upon months to complete. The report does not align conservatives, like yourself, with extremists. Why do you now align yourself with extremists? You, Hanity and Limbaugh are doing it, not the report. The vast majority of terroristic acts in the country are not committed by Muslim terrorists, they are committed by people like Timothy McVeigh. People who fit the exact profile of the report. Why would you align yourself with them just because you are conservative? The report doesn't.Alec

Wow, fantasyland...

You are borderline delusional, pops. No one thinks you are an extremist. I have decided that you have an understated, but very large, sense of self importance and possibly a persecution complex...but an extremist...lol.
You poor conservatives. There is a report writen about dangerous right wing extremists, and all of a sudden all conservative are right wing extremists. Really now...your pundits and leadership need to grow up, and the people who take them seriously need to develop the ability to think critically...

The world doesn't really care about you. No one is paying any attention to your solipsistic dreams...

But I thank you for your post because your paranoia helped my friends and I cry hot tears of laughter at your utter nonsense.

fact-checking is important
written by southernfriedactivist , July 15, 2009

um, you know that the Bush administration prepared that report you are citing, right? It was only released after Obama became president, not prepared.

There are great bloggers in the world because they take their journalism seriously. Journalism requires that you check ACTUAL facts, not just what your "gut" tells you!
